Do you love overlays? I do! I love the versatility, the flexibility and the difference they can make to your creations. I love playing with textures and turning them into overlays, and I love using them.

I have another Overlay for you today, but I also did some playing so you could see just two of the ways that it could be used!

Firstly I took one of the papers from my Moody Kit

I then applied the overlay, played with layer styles, and opacity and fill until I got an effect that I liked. And it came out like this.

Not a huge difference, but a subtle change that I really liked.

I then had a play with a photo .. this is a cute photo of William at the Japanese Embassy, checking out the Koi Pond.

And again I put on the overlay, changed its dimensions, played with the layer styles and opacity and fill. And now it looks like this.

 I quite like the effect.

Now these have been done very quickly, but you get the idea. All you have to do is experiment!

So here is the Overlay for you to download ...

I love the realistic elements that we can get out there in the Digi World, in fact I create a few myself. But every now and then I want something that is totally out there, bright, funky and totally unrealistic. Because of that, a little while a go I created my Funky Fusion Kit, and am now finally getting into gear to make it available for you to download. Well, my goodness what a whirlwind the last 6 months has been. The lead up to the Scout Jamboree has been hectic, and unfortunately all things Digi took back seat ... but last weekend I arrived home ... and the Jamboree is now a memory ...

Today I opened Photoshop for pure pleasure, and finally packaged up some stuff that has been sitting there for a while!

First of all a small Subscriber Item ..

Well it has been a long time coming .. but I have finally managed a couple of pages ..

I have been playing with Lindsay Jane's bewt mini kit 'Stumped'! You can get it here, over at PickleBerryPop.

 Isn't it great! And as my boys play a lot of backyard cricket it is perfect for us! Here are a couple of layouts from me with it!

Thanks all for all your emails, I am ok .. just been amazingly busy!

I have gone back to work, for the first time in a number of years, and getting the balance has been a bit tricky. I have had a ton of Scout work to do with the impending Jamboree so all things digital have taken a back seat. I haven't even been creating Layouts, my poor Photoshop is feeling neglected!

I promise that I will get back into the swing of things soon.

Thankyou again to all my loyal subscribers, I am sorry I have let you all down but I will make it up to you!

I love how this one turned out! Have fun with it!

(A few people have asked whether they can use the Worn Overlays for Commercial Use, I have gotten the original Textures from Lost+Taken, a very cool Texture Site. Caleb gives away the textures for free, and so I like to giveaway the overlays I have created from the textures for free as well. Feel free to use the overlays you use the for things that you give away, ie/ Freebies on your blog, QP's etc and not to sell. If I have created the original texture, like the paper flakes, then these are able to be used for financial gain! I hope that explains it. Any item with a 'CU Tools' backing can be used for financial gain).

Have you made these .. fold paper, that cut out bits, unfold and then you have a beautiful snowflake!

My kids have been making heaps of these lately, I think William learnt how to do them at school and the older two boys joined the band wagon!

So I have scanned them, and been playing around getting them ready to use digitally. The will be subscriber items, but I have the first one for you all to try as a sample. The zip file contains, the original flake as a PNG, and desaturated PNG file, a layered PSD file with clipping mask, and a sample item that I made with it. It has been folded and handcut by Thomas, my middle boy, and he is pleased as punch I have used his first!

Ok, so it has been ages since I updated ... I won't apologise because that is the way life happens sometimes. In short, I have been sick, I have had sick children, we have had Scout stuff and we went on a family holiday. Adding up to a very busy life! LOL You can see what we have been up to on my family blog, here.

The good news is, I have been working on stuff. Slowly, but surely so I have a few updates for you today, and over the next couple of days!
